Sorting out the stores
click here for zipped pdf file

Store rooms are the sort of places that are used by many people but are prone to wasting time. Particularly if the store is unmanned for part of the working day. The end result is that people order more than they really need because they cannot find what is in stock, whilst others hoard personal supplies of parts just in case.

It is a place where time and money can be saved through better organisation particularly when combined with activities to build ownership amongst users

This one day workshop provides an introduction to assessing the end to end stores function from sourcing to part usage and replenishment. Although the material uses examples from an engineering stores, the technique is relevant to anyone with a storage problem to solve.
